Why is my password not accepted when signing in through Safari?

Password not accepted when signing in to the Gaydar responsive site with Safari as a browser?


This could be a cookies problem, and we advise you to first delete your cookies and then try signing in again.


To delete your cookies
:

  • 1 Open Safari. It's a blue, compass-shaped app on your Mac's dock.
  • 2 Click Safari. This menu is in the far-left corner of your Mac's menu bar.
  • 3 Click Preferences. It's in the Safari drop-down menu.
  • 4 Click Privacy. This tab is at the top of the Preferences window.
  • 5 Click Remove All Website Data. It's a button in the middle of the page.
  • 6 Click Remove Now when prompted. Doing so will remove the cookies from your Safari browser.

Please also note, when you sign in:

- Your profile name needs to be entered with lower case characters only

- Your password is case sensitive, so please make sure you enter any lower case characters and capitals in your password correctly

Problems with sending messages and using Gaydar chat

KNOWN ISSUES


You’ll be pleased to know that the following messaging and chat issues have been identified and a solution is already being worked on and given a very high priority:

  • the Messages button and the chat rooms open very slowly.
  • the number of people in the room is not always consistent with the list of people on the right.
  • I am unable to scroll down the list of people on the right.

The above will be fixed soon! Thanks for your patience.


BROWSER ADVICE

We’re aware that some users are experiencing significant issues with Safari on any Apple device.

For now, we still recommend Chrome for the best experience while we work on fixing the Safari issues.

If you don't have Chrome installed already you can download it here:

Additionally, chat and messaging may not work when using the browser in Private or Incognito mode, so we recommend using the browser in normal mode.



TECH TIPS

As a workaround those who miss having a separate Chat pop-out page, we suggest having two windows or two tabs open.

One with Chat and a separate one for browsing the site or sending private messages.


One tab to browse the grid


One tab for sending private messages


One tab for the Gaydar chat rooms


Remember that you can be in several chat rooms at any one time and if you leave the page, you are not leaving the chat rooms.

Please also note, there is an X button in the right corner of a profile when you are viewing it. Use this to return to the Grid or Chat pages,
as the back button of your browser will just take you to another page.

UNABLE TO SIGN IN TO THE GAYDAR APP?

We are doing some work on our apps and are aware this might be causing some slowness and crashing issues at the moment.

If you are unable to sign in please make sure you have updated to the latest version of the app.

Should you still experience problems signing in then please keep in mind we have just launched a new responsive site.


The site looks great and works well on all types of devices, so just go to

https://www.gaydar.net/

through the browser on your mobile phone!


You can sign in by entering your profile name OR registered email address.

Please note passwords are now case sensitive!

Are you trying to sign in and is your password not accepted?

It seems you are using an outdated version of the app which is stopping you from signing in!

You can download the latest version of our iPhone app (version 4.2) from the iTunes App Store:

Once you have updated you should be able to sign without any problems.

WE'RE BUILDING THE NEW GAYDAR

We're sorry you're unable to access Gaydar at the moment.  

We've had to go off air for a few hours as whilst we slip into something a little more comfortable.

It's been a very long time coming, but right now, we are in the final stages of upgrading your Gaydar experience.

We hope to be up and running again by midday GMT.  Should we run over slightly, we'll update this post.
